Band is CO-CURRICULAR at HHS!!!

• All Concert Band and Symphonic Band activities are connected to the class.

• Rehearsals and performances will count towards their class grade.

• This is where students develop the fundamental reading and playing skills that enable them to excel in all other musical styles of playing.

• Students are encouraged to participate in all instrumental ensembles!!!

CONCERT AND SYMPHONIC BAND, PERCUSSION ENSEMBLE~ $150.00

• Concert Tuxedo

• Concert Gown

• Outside instruction from professional clinicians throughout the year

• Contest/Event Registration Fees

• Tuxedoes and gowns will need to be professionally hemmed for $35.00

• *Students who are members of the Concert/Symphonic Band AND the Marching band will only be required to pay Marching band dues plus an additional $100.00 to cover their concert tuxedo or gown for a total payment of $600.00.

JAZZ BAND~ No Dues

• Will focus on playing in various styles including swing, bebop, Dixieland, Latin, ragtime, funk,  jazz fusion, etc.

• Will strengthen students’ reading ability as well as their ability to play by ear and improvise.

• Concert attire will be “Concert Black”

• All black professional wear

• Gentlemen – Jacket, Button-down shirt, slacks, belt, dress shoes

• Ladies – Button-down shirt, blouse, dress, slacks, professional length skirt, belt, dress shoes
